My Favorite Part of Fall

Last Sunday we ended my birthday weekend perfectly by going out to a pumpkin patch.  This is probably my favorite part of fall.

I grew up in a dessert climate with two seasons, summer and winter.  We didn't have the beautiful colors, pumpkins or the fun activities that come with the changing of seasons.  So, obviously, I am probably the most excited 25 year old at the pumpkin patch.  It's funny how the littlest things can be so taken for granted!

I love caramel apples.  Last year I made my own, but this year I enjoyed one at the patch, before searching for the perfect pumpkin.

We found two perfect pumpkins and got a mini one for baby.

Now for the most fun part: the carving!

All of this talk of pumpkins and fall has made me want to make my fabulous pumpkin bread.  My mother in law got me an adorable pumpkin loaf pan with vines and pumpkins all over it, for my birthday.  I remember eyeing it at Williams Sonoma.  I think it needs to be broken in.

Happy Pumpkin Patching, Carving and Baking!
