Thoughts on Motherhood

So, it's only been twelve days, but I do have a lot to share.  To begin with, it's the most amazing feeling looking at a little creature you brought into this world and reminding yourself he is yours.  It's kind of crazy.

When you're pregnant, people share a lot of stories.  They tell you all about how you will never get any sleep, or have any time to yourself.  They also like to share birthing horror stories (or how easy things went for them) and how great they looked ("I never got puffy feet," "No one could tell that I was expecting, from behind.")

Now that I've experienced pregnancy and get to experience motherhood, it is pretty interesting to compare my findings with what I've heard.

First off, most everyone gets puffy feet, I was thankful that it only happened in the last two weeks of my pregnancy, because it was HORRIBLE.  So when someone tells you it didn't happen to them, don't necessarily buy it and wonder what you're doing wrong, etc.  As far as birthing is considered, every single person is different.  Don't bank on having anyone else's experience.  When baby comes, you won't really get much sleep, but for some reason your body asks for less, at least that's how I feel.  And what they don't tell you about your boobs "leaking" is that it is a literal leak, like a faucet... drip, drip, drip.  I always just assumed it was a small gush that your little breast pads kept at bay.

So that's all I have to share for now, when I remember more stuff I will post a second edition.
