Home is Where the Heart Is

After a two week vacation it is such a joy to be home. Vacations are nothing but fun and games, but for some reason they take a lot of energy. There is nothing like truly relaxing, when you're home.

I thought about it all for a while today. How excited you are to leave, get on that plane and go. The dream awaits you and that dream completely comes true. As you lay there on a beach somewhere, it's all so perfect. But even in it's perfection, there are routines that are set awry and little things that are just done much easier at home. With a baby, all of that is doubled. But you're on vacation, so who cares! Let the fun continue. And it does.

It's that dreaded flight back, the packing that comes before it. You always find yourself up late at night, making sure you're not forgetting anything (or at least I do). And so, the inevitable trek home sucks every last drop of energy out of you. Once you've arrived, you sleep for as long as you possibly can and think, "I don't want to go on another vacation for the next two years."

But it's not that vacation that sucked you dry, it's the stupid flight home. Which leads me to my main point: don't you wish you could teleport?!

The end.
