Out & About: Corina Bakery

I was out and about yesterday running some errands and I decided to stop by Corina for a latte and scone. Nikita (my sexy camera) was on hand, so naturally I shot some photographs.

For me, this blog is a place to hone my photography skills. It's a place where I can see progress and change for the better. Part of that is forcing myself to pull that camera out more often, not just at home when shooting a dessert or a DIY project. Getting out of your element and getting over feeling annoying and like you're in the way is part of that.

Enough about me, let's talk about Corina.

Tucked away in a corner of the Merlino Art Center building is this cute bakery (this is no secret, as much as I make it seem like one). There is a ballet studio above, so if you're not hearing the taps of ballerina feet overhead, you are seeing adorable little girls with top knots in line for cookies. They serve great coffee, and delectable homemade treats.

I've never been a scone girl, but theirs have changed my opinion. I went through a fair scone phase, but as of late my favorite flavor has been the cherry/almond. It has toasted coconut flakes on top, which makes my day.
