How I Style My Glasses

In this day and age, with the amount of time we spend staring at computers, most of us wear glasses. It's no surprise that there are so many adorable choices when picking a pair, but styling them in a way that doesn't make you look like you didn't have time to put your contacts in can be a challenge.

Most people figure that with glasses you don't want to "overdue" it. I think that's completely false. Think Zoey Deschanel: crazy, quirky, put a bird on it and a bow in your hair. Because, heck, why not?!

Here are some tips I like to follow on the days I decide to wear my glasses:

1. Always wear eye makeup. Glasses (especially the bigger ones that are so adorable) tend to magnify your eyes. To look alert and put together magnify a cute cat eye or stunningly long lashes. That being said, there is a point where it can be overdone. Avoid dramatic shadows and harsh colors.

2. Style your hair. Whether it's a French chignon, a stylish top knot or beach-y waves with a headband, let your hair reflect your style. Again, it takes away from the "she just rolled out of bed and grabbed her glasses," look.

3. Don't be afraid to be bold. In general. Wear a statement blouse, bold lips or be expressive with your hair. Let your entire look go all the way.

Wearing glasses can be a statement in and of itself. Being bold and confident enough to be the "nerdy" girl stands on it's own. Dressing your glasses up tells everyone you chose to wear them, on purpose, not because of a lack of time or effort.
