On Sunday my sister and I went estate sale-ing and for brunch at Art House Cafe.
I've been several times (only for dinner) and have always been pleased. This time around, I found brunch to be extra delicious. Whether it was my extreme level of hunger or the delicious breakfast pizza and Dutch crepe I ordered, who knows (I'm leaning toward the latter being the cause).
I know breakfast pizzas are an extremely popular and trendy dish these days, but I never really went for them. I suppose I was never in the right place at the right time to be ordering one (brunch at a swanky spot?) I was pleasantly surprised to see that what I expected (a soggy mess) was completely not the case. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, the egg seasoned and delicious and the cheese a comforting addition. I will definitely be ordering breakfast pizzas on the regular.
As for the crepe, again, I was extremely pleased and surprised. What I expected to be doused in sweet goo, was actually not. The berry compote was warm and perfectly tangy. I didn't feel like I was having dessert per se, but more of a fruity treat.
If you're in the Tacoma area, be sure to check this great spot out. You are guaranteed to be impressed.
