Old West

I think this outfit best portrays the Hell on Wheels marathon I am currently immersed in. This is what I'd look like if I was a weird, fashionista Bohannon. If you're confused, press the link already, you'll make the connection pretty quickly. It's all about hats in post Civil War, westward expansion America. And you know I'm all about a good hat.

If you get into the show too, my hat's off to you. Ha!

But there is more to this outfit than my very manly hat. Puffy sweater, midi pleated skirt, socks, leopard, what?! Wow, slow your horses lady (I can't get off the old west bandwagon). I am killing me right now. In-stitches.

Back to busy. I want to get on that socks with ankle booties or heels or flats or you name it, trend. But at times, I'm like, "holy kankles shorty." And it doesn't help that my beauty mark (because I refuse to call it a birth mark) is strategically placed right where the socks land, making it look even busier. But these here outfit posts are about conquering fashion fears, or generalizations about what a petite frame should and shouldn't be wearing. And on this day, I just wanted to be busy and add socks to my canvas, despite having shorter legs and creating a kankle nightmare. Do you really care? Good, because neither do I.

What I'm wearing - sweater: vintage thrifted // skirt: vintage ted lapidus // hat: nordstrom (men's department) // boots: zara // socks: the gap

^^ Wearing a figure unflattering fat sweater? Wave your hands in the air like you just don't care! ^^
