Mama's Got Style

What they're wearing
Charlotte: skirt (gift), top & jacket (f21)
boots (madison harding)
red lips (ruby woo)
Neriah: coat (old navy), shirt & tights (target)
boots (cynthia rowley)
hat (anzhelika crochet), smile (her mama)

We're back with an awesome mama and her daughter this week. Meet Charlotte Betts owner & cofounder of Preface Agency and blogger at MilknHonee and the adorable Neriah.

I met Charlotte while in New York for LuckyFABB and was immediately drawn to her bold and friendly personality. We bonded on being style bloggers with babies and our love for shoes. I'm so glad I got to make this connection.

Charlotte has a pretty awesome history as well. She was born in West Africa, raised in Ottawa and now lives in the windy city of Chicago.

How would you define your personal style?

I really can't say that I stick to a specific "style." I wear what I want depending on how I feel that day. I will say that I like to keep things simple. On most days you will catch me in jeans a tee and a good pair of shoes. I'm a no fuss kind of girl, the simpler the better.

Are there any trends you just don't get?

There are a few, but the one that probably irks me the most would be leggings as pants. Never wear leggings as pants ladies.

Who would you say are your style icons?

Solange Knowles!! Her style is effortless, uncomplicated and somewhat daring. No one else wears bold prints quite like she does. I'm also a fan of Gwen Stefani's menswear inspired looks.

What are some tips you have for maintaining your personal style while being a mother?

Always go for classic pieces. Don't get tied up in trends. Keep things simple and true to your character.

  1. great style.. daughter has style too

  2. Wow, didn't know the beanie still fits. I remember making her custom made beanie right before her first birthday. I get great pleasure seeing my creations on little ones. That the reason why Anzhelika Crochet is a modern family heirloom. Thanks for the credit ladies.

  3. Beautiful pictures, congrats!
