Mad for Plaid

The plaid trend is going full force and I am behind it one hundred percent. I literally squeal when I spot a vintage piece in a great tartan pattern.

Plaids work great with pattern play. I would do anything from pair a plaid with polka dots to a simple animal print (I don't think I would go with stripes though, you get what I mean). I also love the trend for the holidays. Most people will find deep reds and blue patterned plaids are common for the holidays, but I'll be the one wearing them this year, instead of my grandpa. For a festive holiday look, pair with glitter/sequins/something shiny. Last year I paired my vintage, wool plaid trousers with a chambray top to give them a modern touch.

I did the same with this skirt, by pairing it with a 1950s, oversized, wool sweater. While the skirt itself is a pretty traditional/old fashioned cut and length, the colors pop against the fall hues of the sweater.

What I'm wearing - skirt: zara // sweater: vintage // shoes: nordstrom rack (I forget the brand name) // lipstick: revlon "love that red"

Here are a few plaids I am loving as of now. Christmas list anyone?

  1. I love everything about this. The mustard looks great with that tartan skirt. I love my plaid jeans that look super similar to the ones from Banana you posted. I wear them once a week!
