The Golden Hour

Do you ever wait until that gorgeously golden hour to take your photographs? You know, the period just before sunset, when the glistening rays overwhelm you? I do. Here is a shoot that embodies those rays and the feeling you get from them.

The beauty and excitement makes me jump for joy.

If you missed the memo, I am in fact quite pleased with this account of my most recent golden hour. Furthermore, the tree behind me makes me very excited for Christmas. I love this time of year. What would make it even better is a good dose of snow.

What I'm wearing - sweater: forever21 // skirt: vintage // boots: barney's coop

I need a haircut, badly. Aside from that, I love full skirts right now. I mentioned this over and over again, but they are really my thing. I wore as many summery ones as I could get in this fall (paired with light sweaters), but now I am full on into the thicker wool ones (or leather!) with high boots and thicker sweaters. I think the look definitely has a 1970's flare to it.

Now if i can gather my ambitions and make a few wintery skirts, everything would be right in the world.

Sometimes Jude wants his outfit to be documented as well. Who can agree that he needs a new jacket?! That boy is growing way too fast *sob*

If you are not much of a seamstress or vintage hunter but love a good full skirt, here are some of my current faves:
