Handmade Gift Guide: Personalized Cranberry Jam

For our holiday party last week I decided to make personalized jam favors. These look like loads of effort was put into them but they literally take no time or DIY smarts at all.

What you'll need:

• Small canning jars (as many as you want to make)
• Chalkboard paint
• A sponge brush
• Bakers twine
• Paper labels
• A chalkboard pen
• Metallic sharpie

For the cranberry jam:

(these measurements make six small jars)

• 24 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
• 1 1/2 cups sugar

A day or so before making these, chalkboard paint the lids of your jars. This allows them to have ample time to dry.

Make your jam by boiling and stirring the sugar and cranberries on medium heat until all the cranberries pop and the sugar is melted. Blend the mixture very well, until all the cranberry skins are completely purified. Return the blended cranberries to your pot and let bubble on low for about 10-15 minutes or until the mixture has thickened and sticks to your wooden spoon.

Boil your jars to disinfect. Then spoon the jam into each, leaving a little room at the top. Seal jars and wrap with bakers twine and a little label.

Don't forget to write the name of each recipient with your chalkboard pen!
