With her long golden hair, hip horn rimmed glasses and eclectic flare, Moorea Seal is the iconic Seattle fashionista. Her style emanates the Pacifica Northwest's ability to bring all things metropolitan and environmental together in one fine blend.
Her intricately hand crafted jewelry clearly embodies that style. To describe that juxtaposition, Seal mentioned, "I like the outdoors but I don't want to wear hiking boots or plaid all day." Amen to that.
Like most young entrepreneurs her beginnings are marked with the challenge to make ends meet. Graduating with a degree in Studio Arts, at the height of the recession in 2009, she found it difficult to find gainful employment.
Inspired by a lack of money and a desire for beautiful accessories (as well as an artistic father who made jewelry for her own mother), Seal began hand crafting her pieces for personal use and as gifts for friends.
Check out my feature of the Moorea Seal store or head over there in person, you will not be disappointed.
