The Procrastinator's Guide to Halloween // Boo-Cakes

If you're a procrastinator like me, you probably have a big Halloween party planned for Friday and have nothing prepared, bought or even thought up.

Most lifestyle blogs tend to share their festive inspirations with ample time for their readers to ooh over the cute pictures, become extremely inspired and then forget where they ever saw said idea (or maybe that's just me). Eventually rolling right back to point one, where you have procrastinated and don't know what to do.

So here's my Halloween inspiration, just a couple days before the actual day, all simple ideas that are doable in a short amount of time with supplies that are either in your home or extremely easy to obtain.

Let's start with a fun treat... boo-cakes.

Make your basic chocolate cupcakes look like ghosts. The sloppier a froster you are, the better, because no two ghosts should look alike. Seriously, this is fool proof cute.

I used this recipe and mixed up a batch of marshmallow creme frosting (a warning to you all, to obtain that level of ghostliness you need A LOT of powdered sugar).

Frosting:

1/4 cup softened butter
1 cup marshmallow creme
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

• Blend the butter, marshmallow creme and vanilla on medium speed until well blended. Gradually sift in the sugar beating after each addition. The frosting should be a pretty thick consistency to withstand a ghostly demeanor.

• Using a frosting bag and a circular tip sloppily swirl the ghosts into place. Add mini chocolate chips for faces (for the mouth let the point of the chocolate chip show a bit, to create that "boo" look)
